Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú propone el regreso de la educación vial a los colegios
Campaña “Voces Pequeñas, Caminos Seguros” logró el compromiso de los dos partidos que disputarán la segunda vuelta electoral, Fuerza Popular y Juntos por el Perú, para llevar la educación vial infantil a las aulas.
Más de 300 menores pierden la vida cada año a causa de siniestros viales, lo que ubica a este problema como la principal causa de muerte en niños y adolescentes en el país. En promedio, el equivalente a un aula de 25 alumnos desaparece cada mes por accidentes en las pistas.
Ante esta realidad, el Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú (TACP) viene promoviendo la campaña “Voces Pequeñas, Caminos Seguros”, con el objetivo de impulsar una política nacional de seguridad vial infantil y el regreso de la educación vial a las aulas escolares. La meta es reducir la siniestralidad en zonas cercanas a colegios, donde ocurre el 10% de los accidentes fatales.
A través de esta campaña, se elaborará una guía para autoridades nacionales, regionales y locales, y se ejecutará un plan piloto en Lima Metropolitana, que incluirá programas de fiscalización y la mejora de la infraestructura vial, entre otras acciones.
Sobre la iniciativa
“Voces Pequeñas, Caminos Seguros” promueve cinco ejes: la incorporación de la educación vial obligatoria en la currícula escolar; la implementación de Zonas Escolares 30, para reducir la velocidad en entornos educativos; el fortalecimiento de un transporte público escolar seguro; el acceso a sillas y sistemas de retención infantil y la priorización de una infraestructura peatonal segura.
“Miles de escolares se desplazan en condiciones inseguras, sin señalización adecuada, con vehículos que no respetan los límites de velocidad o en entornos con infraestructura deficiente. Esta realidad no puede seguir siendo postergada”, agregó el gerente general del TACP, José Yataco Barrón.
Entre los principales impulsores de esta campaña también se encuentran la Federación Internacional del Automóvil (FIA), el Instituto de las Naciones Unidas para Formación Profesional e Investigaciones (UNITAR), entre otros.
A la fecha, 18 partidos políticos -entre ellos Fuerza Popular y Juntos Por el Perú, que disputarán la segunda vuelta electoral- se suscribieron a la campaña.
