Países de la Asociación Europea de Libre Comercio podrían incrementar compras al Perú por USD 1 250 millones
- Así lo estimó Fernando Martínez, director general de Investigación y Estudio sobre Comercio Exterior, del Mincetur, en evento “Conectando negocios, abriendo mercados: Perú- EFTA.
Los empresarios peruanos tienen la oportunidad de vender con ventajas arancelarias unos USD 1 250 millones a los países de la Asociación Europea de Libre Comercio (EFTA), afirmó Fernando Martínez, director general de Investigación y Estudio sobre Comercio Exterior del Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Mincetur) durante el evento “Conectando negocios, abriendo mercados: Perú-EFTA” organizado por la Cámara de Comercio Suiza en el Perú, con el apoyo de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima (CCL).
Luego de casi 15 años de vigencia del acuerdo entre los países del EFTA y el Perú, las exportaciones peruanas a Suiza, Noruega, Islandia y Liechtenstein alcanzaron los USD 178 millones, pero todavía tienen un amplio margen para crecer (más de siete veces).
Según Martínez, países como Suiza -que concentra el 80 % de las exportaciones peruanas al EFTA- podrían agregar a sus adquisiciones de oro, café y cacao, la plata, arándanos, quinua y más cacao. Noruega en cambio, podría comprar más cobre, uva, hilos de alpaca, tomates y más parabrisas; mientras que Islandia podría comprar pota, hueveras, cordeles, hilados de pelo fino y mango, entre otros productos.
En ese sentido, Mercedes Aráoz, exministra del Mincetur y quien impulsó las negociaciones con el EFTA, señaló que las empresas peruanas tienen en ese mercado preferencias por aprovechar, pero advirtió que entre el Gobierno y los empresarios tienen un desafío por superar que es incrementar la supervivencia de los exportadores, pues la mayor parte de los que logran ingresar al EFTA, no se mantienen mucho tiempo como proveedores.
La bienvenida al evento “Conectando negocios, abriendo mercados: Perú-EFTA” estuvo a cargo de Gabriela Fiorini, segunda vicepresidenta de la CCL, y Pierre Giannoni, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio Suiza en Perú, quienes coincidieron en destacar los beneficios que genera el intercambio comercial y tecnológico, comprometiéndose a seguir trabajando para un mayor acercamiento entre los países.
