El Observatorio de Sostenibilidad Social del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones (MTC) otorgó a Autopista del Norte (Aunor) la distinción “Mejores Buenas Prácticas 2025” en reconocimiento al impacto de su programa “Viva la Salud”, iniciativa que en el 2025 brindó más de 4,500 atenciones médicas gratuitas a las comunidades aledañas a la Red Vial 4.
El reconocimiento destaca el aporte del programa a la reducción de brechas de acceso a servicios de salud en Chimbote y Nuevo Chimbote en Áncash y Guadalupito y Chao en La Libertad, donde los pobladores accedieron a más de 15 especialidades médicas en cada edición del programa, entre ellas: medicina general, pediatría, ginecología, obstetricia, inmunizaciones, control de crecimiento y desarrollo (CRED), laboratorio, odontología, fisioterapia y más.
El éxito y alcance del programa fue posible gracias a la articulación con aliados clave como las municipalidades provinciales y distritales, las redes de salud locales, clínicas privadas y organizaciones no gubernamentales.
“Recibir la distinción del MTC nos llena de orgullo, pero, sobre todo, nos compromete a seguir fortaleciendo el vínculo con las comunidades donde operamos. El impacto de ‘Viva la Salud’ no habría sido posible sin el valioso respaldo de nuestros aliados: las municipalidades, las redes de salud locales, la empresa privada y las ONG que se sumaron a este esfuerzo”, señaló Hernan Santana, director ejecutivo de Autopista del Norte.
Además de las atenciones médicas, cada edición del programa incluyó servicios complementarios que respondían a las necesidades de la comunidad, como corte de cabello, podología, charlas nutricionales, y jornadas de atención y esterilización de mascotas, desarrollados en jornadas completas de 8:00 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. aproximadamente.
