El Ministerio de Salud (Minsa), en coordinación con la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), realizó un taller de fortalecimiento de capacidades dirigido al personal de la Línea 113, opción 5, con el propósito de mejorar la orientación telefónica a personas que atraviesan situaciones de crisis emocional y riesgo suicida.
La actividad se desarrolló en dos jornadas diferenciadas, con contenidos adaptados al perfil profesional de los participantes. El primer día, estuvo dirigido al equipo de Psicología, quienes recibieron orientaciones específicas para el manejo de crisis suicida durante la atención telefónica, incluyendo la comprensión profunda del comportamiento suicida, la identificación de señales de riesgo y la gestión de mitos y creencias presentes en el personal de salud.
El segundo día, orientado a médicos, enfermeros, obstetras, nutricionistas y otros profesionales que atienden en las distintas opciones de la Línea 113, se trabajaron herramientas de Primeros Auxilios Psicológicos (PAP) adaptadas a su rol, reforzando habilidades de escucha activa, validación emocional, contención inicial y activación adecuada de rutas de derivación según el nivel de riesgo.
En ambas jornadas se desarrollaron actividades prácticas, análisis de casos y simulaciones guiadas, lo que permitió consolidar criterios técnicos y fortalecer la capacidad operativa del equipo para brindar una atención oportuna, segura y basada en evidencia.
La directora ejecutiva de la Dirección de Salud Mental del Minsa, July Caballero, destacó la importancia de estas acciones. “Cada llamada a la Línea 113, opción 5, es un momento crucial para brindar apoyo y contener a una persona que puede estar atravesando una situación límite. Por ello es fundamental que nuestros profesionales cuenten con herramientas claras, sólidas y actualizadas”.
Asimismo, subrayó que estos espacios contribuyen a mejorar la articulación con los servicios de salud mental comunitaria y a fortalecer una atención más humana y empática hacia quienes requieren apoyo en situaciones de crisis.
El Minsa reafirma su compromiso con la mejora continua de los servicios de salud mental en el país, asegurando que la población acceda a una atención de calidad, especialmente en situaciones de riesgo o crisis.
