Minsa: despliegan brigada móvil para realizar tamizajes de VIH, sífilis y hepatitis en 14 comunidades indígenas de San Martín
Permanecerá hasta noviembre próximo y el objetivo es atender a la población de la etnia Awajún
El Ministerio de Salud (Minsa) y el Gobierno Regional (GORE) de San Martín desplegaron una brigada móvil multidisciplinaria con destino a 14 comunidades indígenas y sus anexos de las provincias de Rioja y Moyobamba, de la etnia Awajún, a fin de brindar atención de salud. La campaña priorizará la prevención y la atención de las infecciones de transmisión sexual, incluidos el VIH, sífilis y las hepatitis virales.
La brigada -conformada por un médico, una obstetra, una enfermera y un técnico de enfermería bilingüe, con dominio del idioma awajún, que facilitará la comunicación con la población- se desplazará por las comunidades nativas hasta el 20 de noviembre del presente año. Esta brigada se suma a las otras 4 que ya tenemos en la región amazonas.
Se realizarán sesiones informativas de prevención, consejería y entrega de preservativos, además de las pruebas rápidas de tamizaje. Los casos que resulten positivos serán derivados a los establecimientos de salud que ofrecen Tratamiento Antirretroviral (TAR) en la jurisdicción.
El personal de salud llegará a las comunidades previa coordinación, teniendo en cuenta la pertinencia intercultural, es decir, el compromiso de respetar la cultura, idioma y creencias de cada familia y la población.
“Desde la Dirección de Prevención y Control de VIH, ETS y Hepatitis (DPVIH) hemos gestionado este apoyo a través de la Subvención del Fondo Mundial para poder mejorar el acceso a los servicios de prevención y el tamizaje del VIH, sífilis y hepatitis B en las poblaciones indígenas de la región San Martín, donde las barreras geográficas y culturales muchas veces impiden que la población llegue a los servicios de salud”, indicó el Dr. Carlos Benites, director ejecutivo de la DPVIH.
