Brigadas de San Martín intensifican acciones de prevención y control vectorial contra el dengue
Este 25 de octubre se realizará la III Jornada de eliminación del Aedes aegypti en la provincia Mariscal Cáceres, y en Nuevo Cajamarca se eliminó 37 toneladas de criaderos
Con el objetivo de continuar con las acciones de prevención y erradicación del zancudo Aedes aegypti, brigadas recorren las diez provincias de la región San Martín, intensificando las labores de identificación, recojo y eliminación de los criaderos del mosquito transmisor de la enfermedad del dengue.
Este sábado 25 de octubre, en coordinación con la Dirección Regional de Salud (Diresa) San Martín, se realizará la III jornada de prevención del dengue, que tiene como finalidad eliminar potenciales criaderos en botellas, cáscaras de coco, cacao y huevo; tinas viejas, llantas, chapas y otros recipientes en desuso que acumulan agua.
La actividad será liderada por la Unidad de Gestión Territorial de Salud (Unget) Mariscal Cáceres, en articulación con la Municipalidad Provincial Mariscal Cáceres, desde las 6:00 a.m., y contará con 27 puntos de acopio y el despliegue de brigadistas capacitados, quienes orientarán a la población en prácticas de prevención y control vectorial.

Gracias al trabajo coordinado entre la Diresa San Martín y la Municipalidad Distrital de Nueva Cajamarca y la Unidad de Gestión Territorial de Salud (Unget) Rioja, se logró eliminar 37 toneladas de objetos que servirían como criaderos del zancudo Aedes aegypti y así prevenir nuevos casos de dengue y frenando la proliferación del mosquito.
Este importante resultado fue posible gracias a la labor articulada de más de 150 brigadistas, quienes recorrieron diversos sectores del distrito para identificar y eliminar focos de riesgo.
Entre los principales criaderos retirados se encontraron cáscaras de coco, cacao y huevo, tinas deterioradas, baldes, chapas, botellas, desechos plásticos, bidones, ollas, llantas, juguetes y otros recipientes que acumulaban agua y facilitaban la reproducción del zancudo.
Hay que indicar que la región San Martín ha dispuesto alrededor de 500 personas, entre inspectores, fumigadores, nebulizadores y brigadas de salud, para recorrer el departamento e intensificar el trabajo de erradicación de criaderos y campañas de informativas dirigidas a la población, con el fin que sepan reconocer síntomas del dengue y actuar de manera oportuna.
El dengue es una enfermedad transmitida por la picadura del zancudo Aedes aegypti. Entre sus principales síntomas y signos de alarma son: fiebre alta, dolor de articulaciones, abdominal, muscular, cabeza; erupción cutánea o sarpullido; náuseas; sangrado de mucosas, nariz y encías.
Ante la detección de estos síntomas, el paciente deberá acudir al establecimiento de salud más cercano para recibir la atención especializada.
