Ministra Maritza Canales supervisa acciones de los programas sociales para proteger a la población vulnerable de Tumbes ante El Niño
La titular del Midis verificó las zonas en riesgo, el despliegue de los equipos territoriales y el uso de herramientas tecnológicas para mejorar la respuesta ante emergencias.
La ministra de Desarrollo e Inclusión Social, Maritza Canales, realizó una visita de trabajo a la región Tumbes para supervisar, en campo, el nivel de preparación de los programas sociales del sector frente al fenómeno de El Niño, así como las acciones de preparación destinadas a proteger a nuestra población usuaria —personas en situación de pobreza y pobreza extrema— y garantizar la continuidad de los servicios.
“Estamos hoy en Puerto Pizarro para identificar las zonas más vulnerables del territorio ante el fenómeno de El Niño. Nos encontramos con las autoridades locales y regionales para conocer los planes de prevención existentes y para mostrarles las herramientas tecnológicas con las que cuenta el Midis, las cuales están a su disposición para que, a su vez, puedan identificar riesgos y poner en práctica estos planes de manera concreta en cada localidad”, afirmó.
La región Tumbes ha sido priorizada por el Midis debido a la presencia de quebradas con antecedentes de activación ante lluvias intensas y a la ubicación de usuarios de los programas sociales en sectores potencialmente expuestos.
Durante la jornada, la ministra verificó el vuelo de un dron sobre Puerto Pizarro, mediante el cual se obtuvieron imágenes de alta resolución. Esta información permitirá elaborar un fotomosaico y un modelo tridimensional del terreno para simular escenarios de riesgo ante posibles inundaciones o movimientos de masa.
Posteriormente, estos datos serán cruzados con la georreferenciación de los usuarios registrados en el GEOSISFHO, a fin de identificar con mayor precisión a la población expuesta y mejorar la toma de decisiones. Toda esta información se encuentra disponible para las autoridades regionales y locales.
Asimismo, la titular del Midis recorrió sectores de riesgo de Puerto Pizarro para verificar las condiciones de vulnerabilidad y acercar al personal del sector a las familias que podrían encontrarse en muy alto riesgo. Entre los puntos visitados se incluyó la institución educativa n.° 014 Miguel Grau.
Como parte de la jornada, Canales presentó el plan piloto Protección en Acción en la oficina de enlace del sector y sostuvo una reunión con el equipo territorial para conocer la situación de los programas sociales en la región, así como sus protocolos de actuación ante emergencias.
