Puno no registra menores de 5 años fallecidos por infecciones respiratorias agudas
Este año, la región contabiliza 26 908 casos de IRA, lo que representa una disminución del 8 % de enfermos con respecto al mismo periodo del 2024
En lo que va del 2025, Puno no se han reportado decesos de menores de 5 años, a pesar del inicio de la temporada de heladas y friaje en esta región. Así lo informó Juan Carlos Mendoza, subdirector de la Dirección Regional de Salud (Diresa).
El funcionario reveló que la provincia con más cantidad de afectados es San Román, donde se ha registrado hasta el momento 8138 casos. Le sigue la provincia de Puno con 4146 casos. “La densidad poblacional de ambos lugares hace que reporten más cantidad de enfermos”, sostuvo Mendoza.
De otro lado, de acuerdo con la Sala Situacional de Infecciones Respiratorias Agudas del Centro Nacional de Epidemiología, Prevención y Control de Enfermedades (CDC Perú) del Ministerio de Salud (Minsa), Puno registra en lo que va del año 26 908 casos. Esta cifra representa una disminución del 8 % de enfermos en comparación con el mismo periodo del año anterior, cuando se contabilizaron 29 337 casos.
En ese sentido, en el marco de la campaña ‘Abrigamos Vidas’ que impulsa el Minsa a nivel nacional, las jornadas preventivas se han intensificado en los establecimientos y redes de salud de toda la región Puno, para educar a la población sobre los cuidados necesarios ante las bajas temperaturas, especialmente en menores y personas vulnerables.
Asimismo, se recuerda la importancia de completar su esquema de vacunación contra la influenza y el neumococo, para lo cual los establecimientos de salud cuentan con las respectivas vacunas.
La Diresa Puno informó que los establecimientos de salud de la región mantienen siempre personal médico disponible para atender oportunamente a niños y personas con males respiratorios urgentes.
