Adultos mayores se benefician de campaña de salud en el Rímac
Minsa promueve un proceso un envejecimiento activo con la práctica de hábitos saludables y desarrollo de una vida digna
Con participación masiva de los vecinos del distrito del Rímac, el Ministerio de Salud (Minsa), a través de la Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud (Diris) Lima Norte, realizó una campaña de atención integral para adultos mayores, con el objetivo de promover un proceso un envejecimiento activo con la práctica de hábitos saludables y desarrollo de una vida digna.
La campaña médica tuvo cita en el patio exterior de la Iglesia San Lázaro, donde las personas accedieron a los servicios de medicina general, salud mental, salud bucal, salud ocular, laboratorio, despistaje de cáncer, nutrición, entre otros.
Es importante que en los hogares y en la sociedad se implementen actividades que sirvan para luchar contra la discriminación por razón de la edad y superar los estereotipos relacionados a ella.
Las personas adultas mayores suman más de 4 millones (47.8 % de hombres y 52.2 % mujeres), representando el 12.7 % de la población nacional, más del doble que en 1950, año en el que este grupo poblacional representaba el 6% (INEI 2020).
Este importante segmento poblacional es el más vulnerables del país y lamentablemente muestra su baja participación social al igual que en el mercado laboral. La alta demanda insatisfecha en servicios de cuidado de larga estancia o cuidados en el ámbito familiar afecta a estas personas, así como la gran incidencia de pobreza y violencia familiar que presentan.
En ese contexto, el Ministerio de Salud busca no solo informar y sensibilizar a la sociedad sobre la importancia de cuidar y promover la calidad de vida de las personas adultas mayores, sino también contribuir a desmitificar la percepción de que son meras receptoras de servicios, resaltando su papel activo y valioso dentro de la familia y la comunidad.
De esta manera, se informará orientará y sensibilizará a este grupo objetivo sobre la prevención de enfermedades y el cuidado integral de la salud. Asimismo, se generará información accesible y relevante, con el objetivo de empoderar a este grupo etario y a sus familias, aumentando la participación social y mejorando su bienestar integral.
