Minsa distribuyó más de 1.1 millones de dosis de vacuna contra el sarampión a nivel nacional
Cantidad entregada a las regiones supera en 17.5 % la programación prevista para el 2026 ante el brote activo de sarampión
El Ministerio de Salud (Minsa) informó que, en el marco de las acciones para fortalecer la protección de la población frente al sarampión, se distribuyeron 1 185 435 dosis de vacunas a las diferentes regiones del país al cierre del segundo trimestre de 2026.
De acuerdo con el reporte de distribución del Centro Nacional de Abastecimiento de Recursos Estratégicos en Salud (Cenares), la cantidad de dosis entregadas supera en 17.5 % la programación inicial prevista para este año, que contemplaba la distribución de 1 008 663 dosis durante los cuatro trimestres de 2026.
El incremento responde a las acciones adoptadas frente al brote activo de sarampión y busca asegurar el abastecimiento oportuno de vacunas en los establecimientos de salud del país, priorizando la protección de niñas y niños.
Asimismo, el Minsa precisó que se realizaron requerimientos adicionales por 176 772 dosis sobre la programación inicial, con el objetivo de fortalecer las actividades de vacunación y prevenir nuevos casos de la enfermedad.
Cabe recordar que el Estado emitió una Decreto Supremo que declara una emergencia sanitaria por brote de sarampión con transmisión local confirmada en la región de Puno y riesgo elevado de diseminación en las regiones de Arequipa, Cusco, Huancavelica, Moquegua, Amazonas, Loreto, Tacna, Tumbes, Ucayali, Madre de Dios y Apurímac, así como Lima Metropolitana y la provincia constitucional del Callao
La declaratoria establece fortalecer múltiples acciones por un periodo de 90 días en las zonas mencionadas, mismas que se encuentran establecidas en el plan de acción para la atención de emergencia sanitaria presentado por el Minsa. Entre las principales medidas destaca fortalecer la vacunación contra el sarampión con dos dosis, la primera administrada a los 12 meses y el refuerzo a los 18; los menores de 10 años que no pudieron ser inmunizados en esa rango de edad pueden ser vacunados y protegidos contra el sarampión.
El Minsa reiteró su compromiso de continuar fortaleciendo las estrategias de inmunización a nivel nacional e hizo un llamado a los padres de familia a completar el esquema regular de vacunación de sus hijos para prevenir enfermedades como el sarampión, rubéola y paperas.
